January 2012
Well, 2011 was a hell of a year - lots of hard work and preperation for some of the projects that I'm going to be working on this year happened in 2011 behind the scenes and I'm really excited for some of the things that I am involved with for this new year. Of course, I'm still teaching a huge amount of loyal students (thanks as always) but there's my new album (see the sneak preview click "One More Chance" on youtube) and the there's tthe chill out album I've been working on that is being released in a few months, then there's the studio that we have finally got off the ground - the list of exciting things goes on!
I hope you all had a lovely Xmas and New Year and I really look forward to meeting and chatting at a show soon!
June 2011
It's been an incredible first half of the year so far with some amazing projects happening and more in the pipeline. I just wanted to update you on a few of the things that I've been up to and a few of the things that are coming soon...
A few months back I started work producing some tracks for a talented singer/songwriter called Ethan Ash (check him out, he's very good). He recently had a "single of the week" on iTunes and so it's a really nice thing to help him develop new tracks and bring a new sound - it's sounding really cool and I'm laying down some very cool (if I do say so myself!) guitar parts. For the festival goers out there you can catch me playing with Ethan on the main stage at Secret Garden Party this year at 12 O'clock on the opening Friday with a great band made up of some great players.
I've been really busy trying to finish writing some tracks for labels and recording an album of funk and soul tracks for a band called Makossa, which is an 11 piece and sounds fantastic! I've just finished mixing the album and I'm really pleased with how it sounds. We actually went into the studio and cut 11 tracks in one day, all live - that's got to be a record!
On May 14th I played as part of the band with funk/jazz legends Shakatak to raise money for MacMillan cancer Research - amazing to play with such superb musicians and really great people! Although the show was amazing and put together in 1 day (no easy task when you've never met the band before and none of us had played the tracks before) the best thing is that myself, AMAZING organist Phil Leader, drummer Mark Simpson and percussionist Gary Griffiths have put a blues band together to go out and play some shows. We've enlisted the bass tones of Shallow Falls bassist Andy Borman and Makossa vocalist Miles Hipkin to complete the line up and I can tell you that it's cooking already!
Finally, I'm starting to work my way through some new tracks so keep you eyes and ears peeled on iTunes for some new sounds coming very soon.......

Neil is proud to be an official Sabre Guitars artist. Watch the video to the right of Neil testing the Seraph model that owner Christian brought over.
These guitars offer a unique take on things and play really nicely. They're very fast and smooth to play and have some really great tones in there. I'm excited to get my own Seraph model which will hopefully arrive soon... Click on the link below to have a look at the website.....
